May 2019 Fair & Auction Review

MAY FAIR & AUCTION

Thank you to all the Medal Society of Ireland members, traders, supporters, collectors and members of the public who visited the fair and auction on Saturday 4th May. There was a full house in the morning with many travelling long distances, including Marcus from Germany, though some had other commitments in the afternoon.

The sun was shining outside and the enthusiasm of shared collecting and friendship was very apparent inside, even round the refreshments seating. As always a huge stir is created when members of the public bring in items for identification and valuation, especially items that have not seen the light of day since the recipient possessed them.

Although not every lot in the auction was sold, there was competition for some and the only downside is that not everyone can be successful.

For those involved in the running of the fairs and auctions your hard work is appreciated, though probably undervalued, as neither run themselves.

Next fair will be Saturday 3rd August when the opportunity will be available again to bring, buy, trade and swap with those who have booked trading space. If you would like the opportunity to trade some of your own collection then call Austin Fennessy on +353 (0)87 234 4890 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
